Coming soon: Rogers LTE brings fastest BlackBerry Q10 experience to Canadians

BlackBerry Q10 Smartphone Exciting news BlackBerry® 10 fans! When the new smartphone launches this spring, Rogers will be the first Canadian carrier to bring its customers the BlackBerry Q10 device that supports the blazing fast  2600 MHz LTE spectrum band. The BlackBerry Q10 smartphone will be available in both black and white, but Rogers customers will be the first to have access to the white model.

The BlackBerry Q10 smartphone includes the physical QWERTY keyboard and a touch screen combined with the power of the BlackBerry 10 platform – perfect for people who love to communicate and collaborate on-the-go.

What makes this BlackBerry so fast?

The BlackBerry Q10 smartphone is built to run on the 2600 MHz LTE spectrum band with Rogers LTE, Canada’s fastest wireless internet. Rogers has more 2600 MHz spectrum band deployed than any other carrier in Canada, so if you’re looking for speed, this is the place to get your device.

With the BlackBerry Q10 smartphone on the Rogers LTE network, you’ll be able to do more with your device, such as live stream HD sports with no buffering, download large files quickly and stream music at faster speeds. And we announced last month we will expand our 2600 MHz LTE spectrum  to 44 new markets this spring.

Want your smartphone in white?

Device colour can be very important, maybe to add a little personality or match your handbag. Whatever the reason, Rogers customers will be the first to get the BlackBerry Q10 smartphone in white.

How do I get one?

The BlackBerry Q10 smartphone will be arriving at Rogers retail locations across Canada in the coming weeks starting at $199.99 with select three year plans. Current Rogers wireless customers can reserve this device now on the Rogers Reservation System and pre-orders for new customers are now available at rogers.com.

Update, April 23, 2 p.m.: We’re happy to announce the BlackBerry Q10 will be available in-store at Rogers retail locations on May 1.

    I WANT! Nuff said!!! :)

  2. Hi there, it’s great that Rogers has more 2600MHz spectrum deployed than any other carrier but Rogers’ overall LTE footprint is still much smaller than your competition’s. I know Rogers will be deploying LTE to over 40 new markets, but coverage will still be less than other LTE providers in the country. In fact, Rogers’ coverage overall (not just LTE but HSPA+) is still nowhere near as large and as solid/reliable as other major providers. I don’t know about anyone else, but I’d rather have larger coverage than faster speeds in only a few select markets. A wireless network should cover more than just urban centres and be robust with reliable signal in rural areas too (something your competitors have done extremely well)…afterall, your customers don’t stand still when using mobile devices :)

  3. Hi all!

Thanks for the info, great to hear this super phone will be available at Rogers!

Can anyone confirm the 2600MHz capability is in addition to the LTE bands as available on The Z10? (700/850/1700/1900 LTE)

    Thanks

      Hi Steve,

      Here’s the Q10 page on our rogers.com http://www.rogers.com/web/link/wirelessBuyFlow?forwardTo=PhoneThenPlan&productType=normal&productId_Detailed=RIMNBLK

And here are the connectivity specifications:

      Connectivity
      GSM/EDGE Bands: 850/900/1800/1900
      HSPA+/HSPA Bands: 850/1900/2100
      LTE Bands: 2600

      • Indeed, but what happened to the other LTE bands? (700/850/1700/1900 LTE).

Is the Q10 capable of those 4 plus the 2600MHz? or 2600MHz only?

        Thanks for the response!

        • RogersNicolas says: April 11th, 2013 a 9:27am

Rogers network uses GSM, UMTS, HSPA and HSPA+ at 850 MHz and 1900 MHz, and LTE at 2100/2600 MHz AWS.

          • Understood. (You’re good at deflecting the question). Issue is, whether the phone itself is hardware capable of 700/850/1700/1900/2100 LTE in addition to the advertised 2600MHz or is the Rogers exclusive Q10 hardware capable of 2600MHz only…

Not asking what frequencies Rogers employs, asking what the hardware radio capabilities are of the Q10 sold by Rogers.

            Thanks.

Hi Steve, I’ll check that for you. It may take a few days for me to get more info.

          • Steve,

Its been few days already and yet they still haven’t reply. It is a simple question for Rogers but yet they had a hard time replying. I don’t think Rogers will only employ 2600MHZ on Q10 and the rest will work on HSDPA+.

When RogersElise said that it will take few days for her to get the info, that means it will take probably months or never. Unless she reads this message and reply back just to prove me wrong.
