Rogers Customers Get a Sneak Peek at the New BlackBerry 10 Devices

Back in December, Rogers customers were the first to be able to reserve the new BlackBerry 10 devices. Today, we’re thrilled to announce that the BlackBerry Z10 will be in stores in 6 days!

Want an inside look at the new BlackBerry 10? Check out the video below:

The wait is almost over

The BlackBerry Z10, a new all-touch device, will run on Rogers’ LTE network. It will be available at Rogers retail and dealer locations across Canada beginning on February 5th, and starting at $149.99 with select  3-year plans.  If you prefer a more traditional QWERTY-keyboard device, the BlackBerry Q10 is the BlackBerry 10 device for you – coming to Rogers in 2013

Why Rogers?

For more than 10 years, Rogers has been selling BlackBerry devices to Canadians. We were the first to launch BlackBerry services worldwide, and have the largest base of BlackBerry users in Canada. We’re happy to continue our tradition of innovation. Being a Rogers BlackBerry 10 customer means:

  • Access to Experts: Our employees are trained and ready to get you started on BlackBerry 10, ensuring your transition is easy and flawless;
  • Exclusive applications: You’ll also have access to exclusive Rogers applications like Rogers Anyplace TV, Rogers One Number, My Account, Sportsnet, and coming soon, Smart Home Monitoring;
  • LTE-powered: Both the BlackBerry Z10 and the BlackBerry Q10 BlackBerry 10 devices run on the Rogers LTE network. Unleash the BlackBerry 10 on Rogers LTE, Canada’s fastest wireless internet*, and you’ll  be able to access files, download documents, stream video content and music at faster speeds. The Rogers LTE network is available in select Canadian cities; visit rogers.com/lte for coverage details.

We’ve got some more news for BlackBerry enthusiasts

As of January 31st, current Rogers customers can beat the line and pre-register for  the Q10, a QWERTY-keyboard BlackBerry10 device, through the Rogers Reservation System.

Fantastic! I am pretty excited about the Blackberry 10 all around, and when i go in to one of your store and test both handsets, i will make my decision!

    1. Brandond

Both devices aren’t available on Feb 5. Only the full touch device.

  2. Wyatt

Any idea of how much the Z BB10 will cost with no contract?

  3. Jordan

Does Rogers have an early upgrade campaign for blackberry 10? i don’t know if i can wait 11 more months for this. i feel like my torch 9800 has been abandoned my blackberry

    1. Rogers_Chris

Hi Jordan, here’s a link to our existing hardware upgrade promotion post here on Redboard: http://redboard.rogers.com/2012/are-you-a-commitment-phobe-weve-got-just-the-thing-for-you/

  4. Phil

What is the non-contract price for the Z10?

    1. Rogers_Chris

      $599.99, Phil.

      1. Wyatt

        Thanks Chris

      2. George

How can we buy it off contract? What are the requirements and is it possible to reserve it in store or it has to be online through a Rogers account?

  5. KDouglas

will it be coming in white? if so when?

  6. Brian

Hi, Is the date the same (Feb 5) for the unit that have been pre-ordered? If so, what was the advantage of pre-ordering if they will be available at the stores at that time.
    Thx!
    Brian

    1. Rogers_Chris

Hi Brian, it’s not a “pre-order” but rather a reservation. This assures you a device from our inventory even if store stock is depleted. It saves you from waiting in line, or calling stores searching for stock. Once your device is available for pickup, the store will call you. Simple as that!

      1. Brian

        Thanks Chris,

I just saw on the Rogers site costing “as low as $139.99 on select 3 year plans”. Nice, but.. my contract is not up for a while so I will pay outright. The site does not say cost “without commitment”. Any idea? You can e-mail me directly if necessary. Thx!

  7. Alecia

Looking for it in white… when will it be available? Also my contract was up in December so will I be able to get the $149 price with a new 3 year contract? Always buy through Wireless Etc at Costco since I can get their awesome extended warranty. Birthday is on the 9th and hoping I can have my new device as my present :)

    1. Rogers_Chris

Hi Alecia, you’ll need to speak to someone with access to your account about your upgrade eligibility.

  8. Ari

If we preordered in December, will it be available for purchase and pick up at the store?

  9. Ari

I mean, will I be able to pick it up at the store on February 5th?

    1. Rogers_Chris

Hi Ari, you’ll receive email updates on your status and the store will call you when it’s available for pickup.

  10. Nezgar

    When can I reserve a Q10?

    1. Rogers_Chris

Hi Nezgar, beginning tomorrow, customers can begin pre-registration for Blackberry Q10 devices.

  11. jvictor77

As KDouglas asked: I have a reservation at my local store. Will they have it in White next Tuesday?

    1. Rogers_Chris

We don’t have that level of detail to share. You’d have to visit the store to find out on launch day.

      1. jvictor77

Thanks Chris – I guess I’ll rephrase the question: Regardless of each store’s situation – is Rogers Wireless launching in both black and white?

      2. vieagle

well as per previously going through a similar situation with a certain rogers release of a phone…their canned response will be that they cannot comment on it if it was not in the original release. Or they cannot share information that has not been openly announced.

      3. jvictor77

Looks like they absolutely refuse to answer this one! I give up….my Rogers dealer had better have a white one on Tuesday LOL!

      4. Rogers_Chris

Oh we’re launching in both colours, sorry for not replying sooner!

  12. Rogers is lying in their own press release. Here is a quote from the latest press release:

“The company also confirmed it will offer Canadians access to the BlackBerry Q10, which features a physical QWERTY keyboard, in 2013. Current Rogers wireless customers can beat the line and pre-register for BlackBerry Q10 starting January 31(st), 2013, on the Rogers Reservation System.”

Notice the date: January 31, 2013. At this moment it is 12:50am on January 31, 2013…. but there is no possibility to pre-register for the BB Q10.

    1. Rogers_Chris

      It’s now live Istvan.

  13. ant1029

Will the White Z 10 qualify for the Winter White Hot Event savings?

    1. Rogers_Chris

Hi Ant, technically yes but savings are up to $100, not necessarily $100 across the board.

  14. Giovan

Can you pick up your pre order before feb 5 if it arrived at the store and you have received notification

    1. RogersNicolas

      Hi Giovan,

Devices will be available for pick-up starting Feb 5.

  15. Jonah

Excited for Blackberry for this new device. But honestly its way to expensive to early upgrade for it.

  16. ant1029

Thank Chris, Im also wondering if the Z10 will have UMA capability?

    1. BBfan

Also wondering on UMA as i’m in a dead zone

  17. Chris

So when will you release data plans for BB10 (Z10 and Q10) devices ?
Devices are released tomorrow and nobody can help with rate structures. I called two locations and they are not sure. Your website does not clarify anywhere either.

    – does a device on a corporate BES10 server require Blackberry BES Service from Rogers ? Have things changed from previous devices ?
    – Does LTE service have different rate structure ?

Why does a link to your page which is intended to explain all this yield a “404 Page not found result” ?
