Do you love LTE? Tell us & you could win a new LTE device from Rogers
Next month we will celebrate the one year anniversary of LTE in Canada. In July 2011, Rogers was the first to bring LTE to Canada with the launch of our network in Ottawa. Today, many city launches later, we offer LTE to 12 million Canadians and will cover 60 per cent of the population this year. We introduced even faster LTE speeds as the first to launch LTE devices that work on both the 1700/2100MHz and 2600 spectrum offering typical download speeds of up to 40 Mbps and maximum theoretical download speeds of up to 100 Mbps.* We’ve made exciting progress and the journey continues as we continue to expand our network and launch more LTE devices.
Many of you have told us that you love LTE and that it’s changed your digital lives. We want to hear your stories! In 100 words or less tell us how LTE has made your life better for a chance to win one of the following LTE devices:
- A Samsung Galaxy Note
- A Samsung Galaxy 8.9 LTE tablet
- A Samsung Galaxy SIII 16GB or,
- A Sierra Wireless LTE Hotspot Prize Pack including a Sierra Wireless LTE hotspot, backpack, water bottle and jacket.
Has LTE transformed your gaming experience? Allowed you to live stream sports in a way that was only a dream not that long ago? Made downloading music and movies so fast that it’s freed up time for other things and reduced your stress levels? Has it improved your business or given you flexibility to do more on the go and improve your bottomline? We are looking for specific examples.
We’ll be selecting the top 8 finalists and publishing their entries on RedBoard on June 28th. From the 8 finalists, we’ll be doing a random draw for 4 winners. For full contest details and rules, go here.
UPDATE (June 28, 2012, 12:24 p.m.): The LTE one year anniversary contest is now over. A HUGE thank you to everyone who participated and shared your stories with us. We got everything from connected grandmas to on-the-go student and you blew us away with your creative entries. I visit my granny often in Vancouver BC, and visiting her is such a delight, especially since i get to use my Samsung SII LTE! The speeds i receive make using my GPS over network a breeze while navigating in such a big city! I love LTE, i don’t know how i ever lived without it!
Thanks, Brandon. Thanks for being our first entry. Glad you are finding LTE speeds in Vancouver are making your visits with your granny even more delightful.
I’m not an LTE subscriber yet, BUT I’d love to be. I’m the type of user that is constantly looking for a faster connection. Why waste time waiting to download that next app you want, or the next song, or movie you’d like to watch during a boring ride into work? Wanna get some work done? LTE is more productive by allowing me to access my files any time with the same speed as my home connection. LTE would free up my time to do what I WANT TO DO.LTE means FREEDOM!
LTE has made a big difference for myself. As a person whose job takes me away from home a lot LTE has enabled me to stay connected to my family in a way that I never was able to before. Not just phone calls, now recording video at home and sending it to me and thanks to LTE connection being able to see those moments I miss only a minute after they happen.
not sure what lte is but we have a rogers pay as you go phone…so i guess its great!
LTE has made my life better by allowing me do conduct business on the go quickly and hastle free.
Sometimes I get a call when I’m on the road from a potential client that is looking for a safety program and or an inspection. LTE allows me to quickly locate the customer, research the customer and ultimately allow me to see clients on short notice with the knowledge I need to close a sale.
LTE is an important ingredient in the mix of my business
I’ve already got the Jetstream and One X on Rogers LTE, so I’m not really interested in any of these prizes, but I do want to chip in and mention that it’s made my life so much easier. To be able to have blazing fast internet wherever I go has been just astounding. From downloading podcasts and games to streaming Netflix on the streetcar to network testing… it’s all fantastic!
As a long-time cellular devise user, I have been through many different phases of connectivity. In my opinion, nothing beats the lightning fast speeds of LTE. It allows people to connect in ways they never thought possible. Data speeds are dramatically faster which leads to a higher performance rate. This is great because it allows for me to keep up to date with less loading screens, get to the places I need to be with GPS, send files and connect instantly to the things I need most. As a busy college student, these features are essential to leading a busy life. I would NOT downgrade to anything else.
Ive only been a LTE subscriber for 2 weeks and i am still finding out all the advantages that it allows me.It has allowed me access to more devices in one. Music, GPS, internet, texting and email. I don’t know what took me so long to get on the bandwagon, but since buying my Samsung Galaxy SII, i have not used my ipod nano or my Garmin GPS. and i have been in conact with my kids more often. Right now my wife is hoping to get the Galaxy SIII.
I would love to win these prizes these are awesome.
More bogus ‘aren’t we awesome’ corporate messaging.
Still no LTE in my area and no word- zilch, zippo, nada- from the mother ship as to when it’s supposed to finally arrive.
Sometime before 5G, one assumes.
These back-slapping gimmicks are brutal….60% of the population…whoopee!!…what about the rest of us?
Exactly.
We’ve only announced a handful of the markets we’re expanding LTE to in 2012, random72. As we’ve maintained, we’ll have LTE in 25 markets before 2012 is up.
It’s almost July- when are you planning to announce the other markets?
Q4?
I think LTE from Rogers would solve a big problem in my life. When I go shopping to Rogers Plus or other stores, I frequently want to buy something on a whim but I need to balance the urge with the return to home experience with my wife’s disapproval of what I bought. The current approval process is I try sending her pictures of what i am about to buy but half the time I either don’t have sufficient coverage inside the store, or the upload speed is too slow to get the pics to her in time before I hit the store cash registers. I believe my pics would get to my wife sooner, faster and I could indulge myself many more times in a year without the added stress !
I use LTE when we travel to Vancouver from Victoria. We go quite often to take our son to children’s hospital. LTE is extremely beneficial and makes our life easier. I wish I could say it was business or something fancy like that but it’s not. It keeps us connected and keeps the other two kids entertained while waiting for us. Thanks Rogers
I have a LTE device and a LTE SIM but when i called to switch my plan to a LTE plan the Customer Relations rep told me there was no LTE version of my plan. When i told him I knew there was because other people had just gotten it he then said that the plan was in the system but he wasnt allowed to give it to me.
So bottom line I would Love to have a LTE story to tell but i dont because your reps are “not allowed” to give me the LTE version of my existing data plan. :(
I haven’t had the pleasure of being a LTE subscriber Y-E-T ;) But if I could “dream”, I think it would make my life so much easier, and I say that with all seriousness…it means I can use it for myself and my son who is only 3 can have the Ipad! I want to be able to download music with ease and OMG…the GPS…so I don’t have to depend on the hubby’s directions…that’s a whole new story itself! Thanks for the chance!
Rogers LTE has helped me be more efficient at work. Often I am called upon to troubleshoot machine issues. LTE has allowed me to connect to service centres to assist me with the machine issues which means the staff gets up and running again quicker, and I get to go back to my desk job.
I love Rogers’ fast LTE for making my family love me more. LTE helps me enhance our sharing moments. Sitting in cars on a road trip for hours of doing nothing is really a disaster. When the whole family are in car for a long road trip, with a LTE device, we still can watch online TV programs or download movies to entertain together every second sitting in the car. Other than that, my nephew can download and play games instantly to never get bored. I can also look up my mom’s favorite songs to comfort her during the long trip.
From the bus ride to work, to long relaxing whirlpool baths, to just relaxing in bed, LTE has made all my free time that much more enjoyable. Cooking from recipes is now a breeze while in the kitchen! Instantly surfing for answers/info at the behest of a random thought has been a great advantage and a relief on my memory. An unforeseen advantage and delight is that my daughter and I play a little game where we use the notes app to send each other little surprise notes. when she’s not being creative the games keeps her busy…hallelujah!
I don’t have LTE, but if I won, it would help me with my job (military) and help by keeping me in touch with my family better and I would be able to use LTE and other features to video chat with my son “on the go”
I love having such fast data on my phone wherever I am. One specific example of how it has truly changed everything is on my daughters 6th birthday. My daughter and my cousin share a birthday, and since my daughter could talk they have exchanged birthday wishes over skype on the home computer. This year I picked my daughter up from school and had errands to run and we weren’t going to make it home before my cousin went out (she is 3 hours ahead of us). I decided to try out skype on my phone over the Rogers LTE network. IT WAS AWESOME! My daughter had voice and video and talked to my cousin while we drove around town. They were both so happy that they didn’t miss their yearly video chat. It was truly special, and there was not even a glitch in the video during the whole half hour talk!
