Yee-ha! Nokia X7 now available exclusively from Rogers

How does the new Nokia X7 stand up to a weekend in Canadian Rockies? As it turns out, pretty well. Recently, Nokia held the #NokiaUnfenced event where 10 Canadian bloggers were sent to Canmore, Alberta to test out the new Nokia X7, now available exclusively from Rogers. The group navigated the Kananaskis Valley, climbed trees, rode horses and put the phone to the test throughout the weekend checking out the GPS and Ovi Maps functionality, the camera and the phone’s overall durability.

The Nokia X7 is great for gaming and viewing HD videos with its massive 4” AMOLED touchscreen. It has a high-end 8MP camera, can record HD video and fully customizable home screens where you can easily add and remove shortcuts. It also has free GPS navigation with Ovi so it’s great for finding your way around whether you’re walking, driving or navigating your way around rural Alberta.

You can check out some of the blogger’s experiences here and here and for a more in depth look at some of the features and functionality, check out this video with Nokia’s Chad Saliba:

  1. Yay a nokia phone running symbian Anna! Way to keep us up to date Rogers! Rogers will need to do better than a gimmicky blogger send off to boost the sales of a phone on a “burning platform”

  2. Symbian? Nokia dropped Symbian back in April, I believe. While it’s not state of the art, if it’s priced at the low end of the smartphone spectrum, it could be a decent phone. I just hope people don’t expect updates or an app store.

  3. This is a joke, right?

  4. I can’t believe this! If I work for Rogers… I will be shame to put this online line and say “Yee Ha”… I am going over to Bell on Aug, just to get my Samsung Galaxy S2!!!! I would be Yee Ha 4 years ago… on Nokia…. Not today! This must be a joke!

  5. FOr someone who doesn’t need a data plan. The Nokia X7 is a good choice. $29.99 on a 3 year voice.
