Rogers Reservation System: the latest devices without the lineups
You’ve seen it before: overnight camp-outs, lines miles long, people anxiously awaiting the availability of the next big device. For those of you who just don’t have time to wait in line, but still want to get your hands on the latest gear, you can reserve a device online through the new Rogers Reservation System.
Here’s how:
The Rogers Reservation System helps existing postpaid Rogers wireless customers secure a place “in line” for select devices without having to visit a store or call us.
All you have to do is go to Rogers.com and sign up for a MyRogers account. Next, login to your account, click the “Device Reservation” button and follow the instructions to select your device. We will email you regularly with updates on your place in line and you can check your status in real time through your MyRogers account. When your device is ready, we’ll ship it to the store of your choice and let you know when it’s arrived.
You can often reserve a device before it goes on sale to the general public. In some cases, devices may be available through the reservation system days after they are announced by the manufacturer.
A $40 (+ taxes) refundable reservation fee will be applied to hold the device. It will be credited back to your account when the device ships from our warehouse to the store. You can cancel your reservation at any time and your $40 fee will be credited back to your account.
We’ve recently enhanced our hardware upgrade program to give you more flexibility to upgrade to the latest devices any time. Our early upgrade promotion allows you the added freedom to upgrade your device as early as six months into your existing contract term.
This early upgrade offer applies to our entire lineup and replaces special device specific hardware upgrade offers we’ve had in the past. Even if you’re not eligible for an upgrade, you can still reserve devices through the Rogers Reservation System.
That’s it. Just a few simple steps and no lineups or waiting on hold.
Which Rogers’ device are you upgrading to next?

Good job Rogers (not often I say that I am afraid). When will iPhone 4S be on the list?
Thanks Kevin! It will be up on the Rogers Reservation System on Friday, October 7, 2011.
Will the new iPhone 4s be available through that service?
Yes it will, Michael!
Hi,
Just wondering what time on Friday we will be allowed to reserve an iPhone4S.
Thanks!
When will the iPhone 4s be added to the reservation list. I haven’t seen any comments since the announcement?
Friday, October 7, 2011!
Can a small business account reserve phones?
Thanks Rogers for the update :) is that friday oct 7 at 12:01am?
Maybe i’ll try asking again.
Is it possible to to reserve the upcoming Galaxy S2 LTE while initiating a HUP or do I have to wait for the phone to be released?
Hey Daniel,
The reservation will ensure you get a device. Pricing and HUP details are not part of the reservation. You can speak to the rep about HUP etc when you pick up your device.
I LOL’ed when I saw Rogers_Chris has to repeat like a million times telling people that iPhone 4s will be availble on Friday October 7, 2011
Chris, I actually has a new question for you… Will iPhone 4S be available on Rogers Reservation System…………… hahaha… just kidding….
My actual questions are:
1) What is the exact time that iPhone 4S be available on Rogers Reservation System? Is it 12:01AM EST?
2) Let say if someone else order iPhone 4S 10 seconds after I placed my reserveration, is it true that I’ll get the phone before him, or it’ll depends on pickup location and other factors?
Hi Steven,
You might laugh again seeing that I have answered the same question 20 times or so already, but once again…
1. 6 a.m. EST on Friday
2. The reservation system guarantees a device, but we cannot guarantee when a customer will receive it. Customers are placed in queue based on when they reserved and will receive their devices as we get inventory.
Hope this helps!
Hi Guys,
Will the reservation system indicate if an upgrade is available for an iPhone 4S and if so what the price will be? Is there a way ahead of time to determine upgrade eligibility or is this on a device by device basis?
Thank you.
Hey Michael,
The reservation is just for the device. Pricing/HUP is not linked. To determine eligibility it’s best to speak to a rep.
Does the new upgrade program mean there won’t be any early upgrade programs for the iPhone 4S like Rogers has had in the past? I’m fine signing a new contract but I’m not terribly keen on paying +$400 just to upgrade early.
I only had my phone for a month and I was thinking of upgrading it to iphone 4s. Is it possible?
Hi julian,
You’ll want to visit another Redboard post about our Early Upgrade Program – the short answer is no, though. You need to be at least 6 months into your current agreement: http://redboard.rogers.com/2011/what-you-want-when-you-want-it-upgrade-early-with-rogers/
Are pay as you go customers able to use the Rogers Reservation System?
Hey Rosa, unfortunately no. As the reservation system is directly tied to your wireless account number, only wireless post-paid customers are eligible to reserve.
Sorry Rosa, it’s only available to post-paid customers.
Alright, thanks anyway!
Friday, October 7th at 12:01am? What time zone? PDT?
Friday, October 7th at 6 a.m. EST
Rogers_Chris, I appreciate that you’ve answered the same question six times. However, at *what time* on October 7, 2011 will the phone be available? 8:00 am EDT? 12:01 am EDT? Noon EDT?
6 a.m. EST on Friday morning. Sorry for the delay! We *just* found out.
What time will the iPhone 4s be on the list on Friday?
Hi Chris,
Can you tell me specifically if iPhones reserved via the reservation system are guaranteed to be available for pickup on Friday October 14th? If not, then there really isn’t a benefit at all to reserving it through Rogers since your store stock will be very low compared with Apple. It could take weeks to fill orders via the reservation system as hundreds of people request their iPhone for pickup at the stores considering the people in the lineups will get them first, no?
Hey Cory,
The purpose of the RRS is for those who want to ensure they can get a device should local stores be sold out of inventory. Devices are allocated for both the reservation system and stores. Reservation fulfillment will depend 100 per cent on how many people reserve the device. Once the device is available they will start to ship to the list in the order the reservations were placed.
Hi Cory,
The reservation system guarantees a device, but we cannot guarantee when a customer will receive it. Customers are placed in queue based on when they reserved and will receive their devices as we get inventory. Customers can check to see where they are “in line” through MyRogers and My Account.
Rogers_Chris, you’re awesome.
Regarding October 7th, can we get a time frame?
It makes a difference whether one needs to stay up late the night before, or wake up early the day of.
It looks as though Apple’s pre-orders kick off at 12:01 PDT (3 AM EST)
Hi Andre!
6 a.m. EST
:)
Will the reservation system tell me how much the iphone 4s will cost me, given that I still have 10 months remaining on my existing contract for my iphone 3gs?
Hey Paul,
The reservation will not list pricing. It’s to secure the device only. You will need to speak to a rep for upgrade eligibility details.
By now everyone knows the iPhone 4S will be available for pre-order in the system on Friday, October 7th. My question is at what time (midnight Eastern or Pacific) and what will upgrade pricing be? Why does Rogers always have to wait till the last possible second to release this information? It’s 16 hours untill the 7th here in Central time and there’s still not answers to these questions? Are we supposed to all just sit up untill 12am Eastern time and hammer Rogers servers every few minutes untill 12am Pacific time ensuring nobody is able to access any preorders?
Really, it would be nice to give your “valued” customers a bit more time and information to prepare. Maybe just once Rogers could get their offers in place to coincide with Apple’s big announcements. There’s no reason to keep people guessing till the last possible second.
Andrei O.,
6 a.m. EST
Sorry for the wait. Hope this helps!
