New year’s resolutions? There’s an app for that

This is a time for optimism as many of us make New Year’s resolutions. Whether it’s losing weight, getting your life organized, or even managing the household budget, there are a slew of apps available to help you stay on track.

Mike, one of our Data Guyz, recently appeared on Vancouver’s Breakfast Television to discuss apps you can use on your smartphone or mobile device to make those resolutions a reality. Among his faves:

  • Daily Burn – iPhone app that lets you view and track your training plans, quickly track your exercises, search the full foods database and view charts of your progress, and much more.
  • MapMyRun – iPhone and BlackBerry app that logs and analyzes all your workouts over time, so you can improve and stay motivated.
  • Personal Assistant – Blackberry app that lets you track to-dos and appointments, even air miles.

You can check out the segment below.

The Data Guyz and Girls are Rogers employees who appear on TV, radio and online across Canada to talk about cool apps and the latest mobile technology. Expect to see more clips from them here on RedBoard as we help you get the most out of your devices.

Do you use any of the apps in the clip? What apps are you using to stay on top of your resolutions?

How about blogging a poll of future devices and see what we would like to buy.
