Help flood victims in Pakistan now by texting HELP to 4357

With millions in need of shelter, clean water and emergency services, you can help those affected by the recent flooding in Pakistan right now by texting HELP on your mobile phone to short code 4357 (HELP).

A $10 charge will appear on your next bill but doing so will actually send $20 to the Canadian Red Cross’s flood relief program as the Canadian government said yesterday it will match all donations made to registered charities.

The text-to-donate program is available to all Rogers and Fido customers and 100 per cent of the donations raised will go to the charity.

For more information on ways you can help, please visit www.redcross.ca.

      Hi Javatyger

Excellent. I donated too as soon as I heard about the program. Thanks for your comment!

      Richard.

  2. Thanks alot :)

  3. Isn’t it sad that after 10 hrs of posting this and no one has made a comment regarding the flood victims of Pakistan, everyone is pre-occupied on trying to find the iPhone 4 or trying to figure out when the Torch is going to launch.

Why don’t we all sit back and wait for the stock and launch dates to be announced and maybe just send out a helping hand to the victims.

Do we get tax reciept for these? Its surely conveneient but if I was to send 10 such messages (total $ 100) then id like to be able to claim it on my tax refund as well.

    Please advise.
