Do more with new features for Rogers My Account App

has now been updated to include even more ways for you to manage your wireless account right from your device.

In addition to making payments, checking airtime and usage, you can also manage other services, including:

  • My5 numbers. No need to call in to make changes to your My5. You can add or remove people right from your device.
  • Ringbacks. Sign up for a Ringback membership and set up your favourite song to play so that people hear your song instead of the standard ring sound when they call you.
  • Extreme Text Messaging. Manage free features like personal signature, distribution lists, auto-replies, message forwarding and text blocker

How do I get it?
Access the icon on your home screen or download it from the Rogers mobile site. If you use an iPhone or an Android-powered device, download the app from your smartphone’s app store (search for “Rogers My Account”).

Once you have the app, you’ll see the Services tab. My5, Extreme Text Messaging and Ringbacks are listed there.

My Account works with your mobile browser, iPhone, BlackBerry and select Android devices. Click here for a full list of supported devices. For authentication reasons, My Account requires a Rogers data network connection. The app is not currently accessible for our corporate or pre-paid customers.

How much is it?
The My Account app is free. There is no charge to download the app and no charge for data consumed by application usage.

  3. i have it installed on my android, but it’s not saying it needs an update… and it’s saying it’s unavailable when i try to retrieve the info — please reply

  4. You need to fix this app to allow authentication via user name and password over WiFi. Its current limitation of working only over 3G is very annoying. It’s a little sad that 3rd party apps have this capability but your own in house app does not.

  6. I use it all the time on my iPhone, and find it very useful to monitor my data usage. As for the extra services, I have yet to see anything for me. I much prefer the website for all the other stuff.

    Talking about smartphone apps, I wish Rogers would come out with a mobile version of their Program Guide, with remote DVR programming. Now, that would be cool!

    Hi everyone,

    A couple of you have commented about this app not working over WiFi. The reason is that all My Account applications currently require a Rogers network connection for authentication reasons.

      There really has to be a better way to handle authentication. The comments are likely due to the fact that the majority of us use apps at Home, Work, School, etc, all of which typically provide WiFi access which greatly limits the benefit of this app.

      I removed it from my phone long ago for that reason.

        What’s the story …… Been trying for a week to use the “updated” my Rogers app. Try later message for the past week. Is it that big a mess it can’t be fixed?

    The app USED to work great, but since the update, when in portrait mode, I can only see the first tabs info. If I select on the other tabs it popups the “Retreiving Info” screen then it shows the info and quickly disappears making it totally useless. HOWEVER it works most of the time in landscape mode. I submitted feedback for the app via the feedback button, but nothing so far. I’ve been using the Nexus 1 with stock OS 2.2 (froyo)

    im trying to get ringbacks on my iphone 4 and keep getting error code SM something everytime, whats goin on? i realy want ringbacks,can someone help me

    how about a Symbian Qt version of the app? Now that Nokia has released the Qt SDK and changed their Ovi Store publisher application process, making an app for Symbian S60 5th Edition phones (5800, N97 mini, etc) is extremely easy to make and distribute, and the Qt app can even replace the Android app too, so you are still only developing two versions of the app for 3 platforms, Symbian, Android, and Iphone (and in the future MeeGo), or just do the app in Java and run on every phone, other than Iphone. The rogers.mobi site doesn’t work at all on my N97 mini, so getting a Java or Qt version of the app would be great! Please stop ignoring those who chose alternatives to Iphone and Android.

        I saw the N97 mini Tour posting, too bad I wasn’t in the country at the time, would love to have been there for it having only ever owned Nokias.

        Any word on new Nokias smartphones coming to Rogers (E5/6/7, N8/9, etc)?

    The Rogers My Accounts apps are pretty sweet … with one exception: in their current form they don’t work with corporate accounts. This would be an amazing cost control/customer service tool if it would work with them. Even if it could just show data and voice usage.

      Thanks for the feedback. Corporate users are blocked from seeing their balance and usage for privacy reasons. While Corporate users can contact their account administrator for information, I understand what you’re saying. I’ll pass this feedback along to the team.

        Thx for the reply… the funny thing is that I AM one of my organization’s administrators (For Rogers account and IT services) and I’ve asked my Rogers Sales, Account and technical reps to see if they can give us some access and it does not seem possible for Corp accounts :(
